Healthy soil makes your food taste better!

Why are pasture-raised farm eggs so much better than factory-made eggs, that look and taste like a bad imitation of the real thing? Why do they have richer color and flavor? Why do they cook differently in the pan? Soil health. Healthy soil makes healthy food.

That healthy, pastured chicken is out there eating grubs and plants and a whole slew of little things from the soil (yum!).

It’s the same with growing grains in happy soil.

Grains send out roots, asking the soil for what they need. And like any living thing, it turns out that what they need is much, much more complex than three or four macronutrients.

If all they get is an industrial imitation of soil, they, too, will be an industrial imitation of real grains. Impoverished soil makes impoverished food. Rich, healthy soil makes rich, healthy food. AGAIN!

Impoverished soil makes impoverished food.
Rich, healthy soil makes rich, healthy food.

At Long Table, we only work with regenerative farmers: those who care about their land, their soil, about treating it with respect and not stripping it of all it's good for to get more bang for their buck. Which is good news for you: our pancakes taste bangin'!
